Options flow agent: detecting unusual bets before the move
The options market is where informed traders place their bets. Large options trades often precede major stock moves because insiders and institutions use options to leverage their conviction. Our Options Flow Agent monitors this activity in real time to detect signals invisible to most retail traders.
What the options flow agent does
The agent scans all options trades for the asset you are researching, flagging activity that deviates significantly from normal patterns. Unusual volume is identified when options volume exceeds the daily average by 2x or more. Large block trades — single transactions worth $500,000 or more — are highlighted because they typically represent institutional positioning.
The agent analyzes whether unusual activity is concentrated in calls (bullish) or puts (bearish), which expiration dates are attracting the most interest, and at which strike prices. A sudden surge in call options at a specific strike price, particularly in near-term expirations, often precedes positive news or earnings surprises.
Put/call ratio analysis
The put/call ratio measures the volume of put options traded relative to call options. A high put/call ratio indicates bearish positioning. A low ratio indicates bullish positioning. The agent tracks this ratio over time and flags extremes that may represent sentiment turning points.
What you get in your report
The Options Flow section includes unusual options activity alerts with details, put/call ratio and trend, notable block trades with strike, expiration, and premium, options-implied price move expectations, and an options flow signal from Very Bearish to Very Bullish.
